OOC Rules

One. Respect your fellow players and be courteous of their feelings. Harassment of any type will not be tolerated. Treat each other as you wish to be treated in return. While we encourage our players to work out any disputes or misunderstandings amongst one another, in any instance where you feel uncomfortable, please don't be afraid to come to us.

Two. IC is not OOC. IC actions and statements made do not reflect OOC interactions. Bad relationships between characters do not mean that there is a problem between characters. Insults may pass between characters, but they are not meant to be taken personally.

Likewise, what you know about a character is not the same as your character knowing something about them. You may be familiar with a canon, but your character should be learning that from interactions in the game.

Three. Secret roles. In this game, there are times when you may be aware of happenings the rest of the game does not know about; whether that's in a special role or as a victim/culprit, we ask that you keep them secret. The fun is all in the reveal-- at the right time.

Four. Stay active. Murdergames are short term and designed to run at a fast pace. Before committing, you should be fairly confident of your ability to keep up. If for some reason keeping up becomes a problem, we ask that you come to us when that happens so that we can help you find a solution to the situation.

Five. Spoilers and Sensitive Subjects. If spoilers for your character or series arise in a thread, we ask that you label it in the header of your comment so that other players who might not want to be spoiled can see it. Same for any sensitive subjects. Due to the nature of murdergames, it is not uncommon for some heavy or dark subjects to come up. For the comfort of all our players, we ask that you mark threads where such subjects that others may want to avoid happen.

Insensitive handling of those subjects will not be tolerated. If it seems insensitive, it likely is. We simply ask that you give due consideration to sensitive subjects to avoid potentially upsetting anyone involved. If you have questions regarding this, the mods will be happy to hear them. In the case that we find out this rule has been broken, we will freeze any necessary threads and speak with any and all players involved.

Should you need us for absolutely any reason, there are several ways you can reach us; and we will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

Six.
Character death-- Do not join Lockdown if you are not prepared for your character to die. We do not give passes, should you be rolled for a case. Suspects will be contacted in advance to make sure they will be available for the trial. In the case that you will not be available for a particular week, we will do our best to accommodate and help find another.
