LOCKDOWN F.A.Q.

Welcome to Lockdown! Lockdown is a seven-part murdergame (one mock round, six standard rounds) that will have the same format as games such as Dangan Roleplay, Airlocked, Trustfell, etc. Characters from various worlds are gathered together and wake up inside of a mysterious university. Their fortitude, resilience, intelligence, and morality will be put to the test by an anonymous group of people called The Administration in various ways including, but not limited to, murder.
How long will the game last?
What’s the schedule like?
Do I need to reserve to play?
When do reserves open?
Reserves will open on Saturday, July 28th at 12PM EST. They will close when we hit our character cap or on Sunday, July 29th at 11:59PM EST, whichever one comes first.
What if I don't make it in?
Fear not! Lockdown will be using a waitlist system. If you don't make the cut for reserves for this round, you will be given a slot on our waitlist. If someone drops their reserve, we will contact you and see if you're interested in taking their place in the current round. If you still haven't had the chance to make it in, then you will be given a priority spot for the next round's reserves.
Is there an application?
Yes! While not as complicated as most full-time game apps, we will be asking you some unique questions about your character to help judge different aspects of how your character will act in the game as well as get an idea of what your goals for them are in this setting.
Other traditional aspects such as a sample, basic history and personality will be required as well so we can familiarize our character and see your familiarity with them.
We also have a separate application for the traitor role (the Teacher's Aide). More details can be found on the Teacher's Aide page here.
Yes! The mods will post a permanent AC post where upon acceptance you will post a top level with your character's name. Each week, the mods will monitor your activity using AC Savior and post the results of your hard work each week. Loot. Sweet, sweet loot. Because your activity will be monitored by AC Savior, turning in links each week will not be necessary.
Activity is due by Friday and loot will be distributed on Saturday. ICly the loot is distributed Saturday night and will be there for the Apprentices on Sunday morning in time for the new weekly log.
For more information on requirements, click here to go to our Perma AC page!

The investigation will take place every Friday at 12pm EST (except for Week 1). We have an Investigation How-To doc here!
What about the trial?
Yes! This role will be similar to the traditional mole role, but with a few more benefits. The character in this position will be referred to as the Teacher's Aide. We have a separate page with more information on how to apply to be a TA here.
What happens to the characters after the round is over?
Will there be permadeath?
Are private conversations allowed?
Yes. Similar to journal-style RP, characters will mass add everyone (we'll post an Admin Console code for you all) and set up filters for private conversations. Here is a helpful tutorial on how to set up filters! Remember to add the mod account (lockdownmods) on every filter so we can keep up with what's going on. There will be a separate turn-in post for private conversations; comments will be screened.
How about some kind of network?
Can I opt out of a death roll/suspect list?

Who can and can’t I play?

Where am I?!
Fufufu...that remains a mystery, one that your curious minds may uncover during your stay here.
Why me? Why am I here?

Do I need to reserve to play?
YES. Reserves are mandatory. We will be capping at 25 player characters, with a minimum of 20 to play. One of these 25 slots will be reserved for the traitor role, so there will be 24 slots up for grabs. There will also be two additional mod characters, totaling to a maximum of 27 characters. One character per player, 2 characters per canon. Slots will be given on a first-come, first-serve basis.
If you will not be around for the reserve period, we will be allowing proxy reserves. However, we will ask that you confirm your reservation within 12 hours, or your slot will be given up to the next person in line and you will need to reapply.

Will there be memory loss?
Yes. Players will pick two canon points for their character: their assumed canon point and their actual canon point. Their assumed canon point should take place before their actual canon point. Each week after Week 1, characters will regain one memory that takes place between the two canon points on Sunday. We have a separate section for this on the application.
What about material regains?
Yes. Like memory regains, we also have a section for material regains on the application. Unlike AC, players will need to submit links for item regains. Material regain rolls will be done OOCly on Sundays and Tuesdays. Characters will ICly get their items on Mondays and Wednesdays.
How will the investigations work? The investigation will take place every Friday at 12pm EST (except for Week 1). We have an Investigation How-To doc here!
The trial will take place every Saturday (except Week 1) at 12pm EST and will last for 8 hours. Characters will be given the entire time to discuss the evidence and figure out who the culprit is from a list of five suspects until time is up (8pm EST). Votes will be screened. There is no penalty for voting incorrectly individually, but if the majority votes incorrectly, an innocent person will be executed and the culprit will get away with murder. A culprit who successfully gets away with murder will be given immunity for the remainder of the round, but they also will not be able to kill anyone else.
OOCly, we encourage putting in votes as much as possible since scapegoating is a mechanic in the game. If you are unable to vote regularly for whatever reason, please let the mods know!
The cases will be solvable and we will make sure that everyone gets a fair shot at catching the culprit! That doesn’t mean the case will be easy, but it won’t be impossible to solve, either.

Dead characters (i.e. victim and whoever is executed in the trial) will automatically be sent to our deadland.
Survivors will be sent to survivorland. Deadland is locked; survivorland is viewable to everyone.

Will there be permadeath?
There is a very, very high chance that permadeath will be featured in some shape or form in the overall game for player characters. Reserve to the game as if permadeath is guaranteed to happen. Does this mean that all dead characters will experience it? Not necessarily...depending on the outcome you’ve all earned.
Are private conversations allowed?
Yes. Similar to journal-style RP, characters will mass add everyone (we'll post an Admin Console code for you all) and set up filters for private conversations. How about some kind of network?
There won’t be a network, per se, but texting will be a thing! Each of the tablets the characters are given will contain a texting function. We ask that you keep all texting threads, if not private conversations, to the main comm. Do not set up IC inboxes. Keep in mind that The Administration will be able to see all text message exchanges between characters.
Can I opt out of a death roll/suspect list?
No. We do not allow opt outs from death rolls or being on the suspect list, period. The only exception to the suspect list is if you will be unavailable to make a case for yourself for that trial. The rule of thumb is to be prepared for your character to die before apping in.
What are "Class Points"?
Class Points (CP for short) are used by The Administration to determine whether a class (round) “passes” or “fails”. In order for a class to pass, you must have a minimum of 400CP at the end of the round.
How do we earn Class Points?
CPs are earned through a variety of ways:
- Voting for the correct culprit - 100CP each
- Identifying the traitor correctly in endgame - 100CP
- Voting for an innocent person - 50CP deduction
- Failing to identify the traitor - 100CP deduction

Who can and can’t I play?
You may reserve for any character 16 years of age or older. We will also have a maturity clause. If you are reserving a character under the maturity clause, we will require a brief explanation as to why your character should be able to participate in the round.
Characters must be able to communicate with humans. Talking animals such as Winston from Overwatch or Simba from The Lion King are fine. Original characters, silent protagonists, customizable protagonists, and canon characters are welcome. Characters who do not leave a physical body behind after dying are allowed.
We do not accept characters or online personas who are based on real people (i.e. Darkiplier). CRAUs/AU versions of canon characters (i.e. a steampunk AU version of Akira Kurusu even if that’d be really cool), and minor characters with little to no information are not allowed. Animals who cannot communicate on a human level, such as Umbra from FFXV, are also prohibited.
What about new canons?Characters must be able to communicate with humans. Talking animals such as Winston from Overwatch or Simba from The Lion King are fine. Original characters, silent protagonists, customizable protagonists, and canon characters are welcome. Characters who do not leave a physical body behind after dying are allowed.

We ask that all canons have been released in their country of origin for at least two months and have English translations before applying from them. Please be sure to tag any major spoilers as well.
My character died in canon. Can I still play them?Yes you can! As long as they had some sort of sentient body from before they died, you’re good.
Will there be a survivor-only round?Yes! Round 6 will be a survivor-only round. If you decide to apply to our game for more than one round, please consider that only one of your characters will get to make survivor pool in the interest of keeping a manageable number of applicable characters. Keep in mind that you may not have a character in survivor pool at all.

Where am I?!
Sometimes not knowing what to expect can bring you the most pleasant of surprises. Though...I suppose I can reveal that you are inside of the grand Fayflower University, partaking in its prestigious Apprentice Program.
I don’t like this… Can I go home? Not at the moment, I’m afraid. You still have much to prove.
Who the hell are you people?Fufufu...that remains a mystery, one that your curious minds may uncover during your stay here.
You have graced us with your potential, Apprentice. Whether or not your expertise lies in something as simple as baking, to something as grand as ruling a kingdom, you have a place here in the University.
What happened to my powers? We’ve taken away any special abilities that you may have once had, Apprentice. But fear not; your brains and your fighting spirit will be more than enough to get you through this program.

EDIT: To be more specific, would you remember the context of the memory and/or when they took place or would you not get much context until you regain all of your memories?
no subject
For memories, players will be able to choose what order they'd like to regain their memories in and can choose to go out of order if they wish. Because of this mechanic, we're going to say that you won't remember things in between said memories until you regain all of the ones you've listed on your application.

again, thanks!
