TRAITOR ROLE (TEACHER'S AIDE) INFORMATION/APP

Interested in being the Teacher’s Aide for Round One? You’ve come to the right place for more information! We’ll start off with an FAQ, then go into more detailed information.

How does the Teacher's Aide role work?

The Teacher's Aide role will work similarly to the mole in which you will be posing as a fellow Apprentice while providing information to the Administration on your fellow Apprentices. However, the Teacher's Aide will have more control over certain aspects of the round that will be determined before the game starts.

Some benefits of being the Teacher's Aide are:

  • Creating evidence for players to discover, related to the Teacher's Aide’s identity

  • Creating a “theme” for the round (more info can be found on the app)

  • Adding special locations

  • Having direct conversations with The Administration

Can I be the Teacher's Aide more than once?

If you have been selected to be the Teacher's Aide, you may not apply for a second time unless nobody else applies. The mods will reach out to you and let you know if this is the case and give you the opportunity to apply again (with a different character)!

If I apply to be a Teacher's Aide, do I need to submit a regular application as well?

No! The Teacher's Aide app has the same template as the standard application, other than the contents in the Plot Involvement section. In the case where you apply to be a Teacher's Aide and do not get selected, if you are interested in playing the same character, we will just ask for you to fill out the Plot Involvement section from the regular app and submit that as an addendum to your Teacher's Aide app.

If I don't get the TA position, do I have to apply to the game with the same character?

No! You can change your character if you want, you'll just have to rewrite your application.

What about reserving?

If you are selected to be the Teacher's Aide, we will save a spot for you so you are guaranteed participation in the round. However, you still must place in a reserve just like everyone else.

Does this mean I’m exempt from being rolled for a case?

Nope! You can still be rolled, and we’ll let you know what that’ll entail if you get selected to be the Teacher's Aide!

So how do the others have a chance to uncover my identity? What happens if I get caught?

Players will be able to investigate the premises during the final investigation to uncover evidence related to your identity.

In the final trial, players will collectively decide on who the Teacher's Aide is. Whether or not they are correct, the person they decide may potentially be executed.

Here are some things regarding how determining the Teacher's Aide works:

  • Applicants will need to fill out a Teacher's Aide Application, located down below. You will comment to this post with your application. All comments are screened.

  • Teacher's Aide Applications for Round One open on June 24th at 12PM EST. They will close on July 6th at 11:59PM EST. The app period closes three weeks before reserves open.

  • We will judge Teacher's Aide Applications just like how we will judge regular applications to make sure they are sufficient. From there, all qualifying applications will be put into a pool. We will then RNG a Teacher's Aide from the pool.

  • We will contact the Teacher's Aide within 48 hours after applications close and let them know that they’ve been selected. We will also make a Plurk announcement stating that we have chosen the Teacher's Aide so those who haven’t been selected will not be waiting on us.

From here on out is all planning. The player selected to be the Teacher's Aide will be in direct contact with the mods and will spend the remaining few weeks up until the game starts getting involved in the round’s planning process.

DISCLAIMER: You MUST be active in the game and maintain frequent contact with the mods to apply for this position. The Teacher's Aide plays a huge role in the plot and it would be highly detrimental to the game if we lost you. You also must be prepared to survive the entire round, should you avoid being identified by your fellow Apprentices. In the case where you survive the entire round, the Teacher's Aide is your only character who will be applicable for survivor pool, and subsequently Round Six.

OOC INFO

Name:

Age: Players must be over the age of 18 to participate.

Contact: Plurk/Discord/PM/etc. We strongly recommend having a Plurk, Discord, or both to communicate, especially for case planning purposes.

Timezone:

IC INFO (please refer to the FAQ for any questions on appability)

Character Name + Username:

Canon:

Age: Characters must be over the age of 16, unless you are applying under a maturity clause. If you believe the maturity clause applies to your character, please type a brief (no more than one paragraph) statement on why you believe your character should be appable to the game.

History: Wiki links are welcome! If there is insufficient information on their wiki, please type up a brief synopsis of your character’s role and experiences in canon (2-4 paragraphs).

Canon Point: Please pick 2 canon points: The first canon point should be your character’s assumed canon point, or where they think they’re from; the second canon point should be their actual canon point.

Memories: Please list between 5-8 memories for your character to regain over the course of the round. These should be events of significance and can be listed in no particular order, but need to have taken place between your character’s two canon points.

Material Regains: Please list 5-10 items related to your character and a brief description of each item (1-2 sentences). Weapons and animals (including Pokemon) will come in the form of a toy replica; weapons will be powerless. Characters will be wearing the university’s uniform, so outfits and clothes from home must be listed as regains.

Strengths and Weaknesses: This is essentially your personality section! Please be as thorough as possible, but we aren’t looking for a novel. (Please don’t give us a novel.)

Skills and Abilities: List 3-5 things that your character is known for in their canon. They don’t have to be the best at what they do, but at least good enough to where it is a noticeable trait of theirs.

Title Request: If you have a particular title that you would like your character to have, please list it here and tell us briefly why you think they should have that title. Feel free to give us multiple suggestions, too! If you leave this section blank or specify otherwise, then the mods will create a title for your character.

Motive: What would drive your character to kill? What are some things that are very important to your character?

Sample: Please give us an idea of what your character would be like as a Teacher's Aide. For example, how would your character act behind closed doors as opposed to the face they put on in front of their fellow Apprentices? As another example, Teacher's Aides have more freedoms than regular Apprentices do, so writing about a hypothetical situation where your character is making use of those freedoms works as well (i.e. your character having a private library where they are monitoring what’s going on). Samples cannot be game/TDM threads. At least 300 words, please.

PLOT INVOLVEMENT

Why would your character agree to be the Teacher's Aide?: Be creative! Maybe your character’s got a secret that the Administration’s holding hostage? Or maybe they just wanna mess things up!

Theme: The Teacher's Aide is essentially responsible for creating and managing their round. Therefore, they’re free to come up with an overall “theme” of their choosing! It can be something superficial such as “Under the Sea” where the entire school is decorated with tacky fish decor, or something more abstract such as finding love (see: Airlocked R2).
